旅游途中的饮食以卫生和规律最为重要。不过当你面对眼前据说是上等美味的东西而一口都吃不下时，你一定会想曾经多想计划带点什么。目前在中国绝大多数地方旅游时，饮食结构已经基本能够满足大多数人士的需要了。如在多少人未知的西藏，正宗川菜已经随处可见。注意旅途中的饮食卫生:餐馆是否有卫生许可证、有清洁的水源、有消毒设备、食品原料是否新鲜、无蚊蝇、有防尘设备，周围环境干净，收款人员不接触食品，且钱票与食品保持相当距离。尽量保持就餐的时间规律，忌暴饮暴食，在车船或飞机上要节制饮食。乘行时，由于没有运动条件，食物的消化过程延长、速度减慢，如果不节制饮食，必然增加胃肠的负担，引起肠胃不适。注意饮水卫生。旅途饮水以开水和消毒净化过的自来水为最理想，其次是山泉和深井水，江、河、塘、湖水千万不能生饮。无合格水可饮时，可用瓜果代水。吃瓜果一定要去皮。瓜果除了受农药污染外，在采摘与销售过程中也会受到病菌或寄生虫的污染。
